Sarah & Carter | Tulsa Club Hotel Wedding Rooted in Intention & Presence
Sarah and Carter’s love for Tulsa showed up even before the wedding day. We took their engagement photos at The Gathering Place, which happens to be right next to my childhood home. That made the session feel especially personal, at one point, they even changed outfits at my house, which added such a full-circle, nostalgic layer to the experience.
Their first date was at Shades of Brown Coffee, a Tulsa staple I grew up visiting myself, so we made sure to stop there for photos too. Every location we chose wasn’t just pretty, it mattered.
They were married at the Tulsa Club Hotel, a downtown landmark known for its rich Art Deco history. Tulsa’s architectural boom lives on through this venue, and they leaned into that aesthetic so beautifully. If you look closely at their wedding photos, you can see the intention everywhere, from her earrings perfectly echoing the chandeliers, to invitations and jewelry that mirrored the Art Deco design language of the space. The Moment by Casey was incredible to work with and served as such a grounding presence for both me and the couple. She’s an absolute pro and brought their vision to life flawlessly.
One of the things that made this wedding stand out so much was just the people that Sarah and Carter are. They are both so present, confident, fun, and loving. There was no performance, no pressure, no obsession with timelines or how things “should” look. Instead, they were fully present, enjoying every moment as it unfolded.
Even in their 20s, the day felt incredibly adult in the best way. Calm, grounded, joyful. That presence translated into the entire atmosphere of the wedding.
While the day felt intentional and relaxed, the reception was anything but low energy. This was a massive wedding, and every single friend they invited knew how to party. The dance floor was packed for three straight hours, no drop off, no lull. It shows in the photos too; this ended up being one of the largest reception galleries I’ve ever delivered simply because everyone was having so much fun.
This was one of those weddings I was a bit sad when the whole process was over! Sarah carries herself with such elegance and sincerity, and both she and Carter were an absolute joy to be around during this process. Being trusted to document this time in their lives was something deeply meaningful. This was one of those rare wedding experiences that checks every box, intentional, emotional, wildly fun, and deeply real.
Truly one of my favorites!
