A Love Story on Film: James and Lauren in Golden Fall Light

Photographing James and Lauren felt especially meaningful, not only because of the season or the beautiful locations, but because they’re two of my closest friends. When they asked me to take their photos, I was genuinely honored, especially knowing we’d be shooting entirely on film, in the very home where we’ve spent countless evenings sharing meals, conversations, and life together. There was something incredibly special about documenting their love in a space that already holds so much history for all of us.

We also spent part of our time at the park where James and Lauren got engaged a few years ago. It’s a place we’ve shared many memories in together, which made the session feel relaxed, familiar, and full of joy. With the fall foliage at its peak, everything felt calm and golden, like the season showed up just for them.

Lauren carries a natural elegance I’ve always admired, and photographing the two of them together felt completely effortless. Their connection is easy, honest, and deeply rooted, and being able to capture that, both as their photographer and their friend—was something I’ll always be grateful for.
